Mataruahou is the Maori name for Bluff Hill in Napier. In earlier years, local Maori visited the hill when unwell as it was considered conducive to healing and good health. This view is taken from the water some distance away and shows the Port of Napier. It’s a view that not many see and I acknowledge Timothy Carrington for allowing me to use his photograph as a reference for this painting. Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. Ready to hang.
